yipeee! 1st paper down today!the paper was ok la.. basically all from the notes. wouldn't score but would at least pass reasonably by my standards. haha
i'm starting to realize that even though how much lecturers and tutors say understand and not memorize, we still have a truckload of memorizing to do. isn't memorizing the author's argument part of understanding the article? to understand, we have to memorize what we are supposed to understand in the 1st place isn't it?
aren't there times where I feel like saying WTH to exams and just throw everything into the air, but then i realize that i don't have the capability to do so. Because other than studying, there is anyway i could survive reasonably well (by my standards again) because i probably wouldn't be able to set up some IT-related company and earn big bucks or at even reasonably-well bucks. so i guess the only way to survive is to study? or to hope that i strike 100 million dollars of lottery so that i can live in luxury for the rest of my life? HAHA STOP DREAMING NET! so i guess i'm stuck with the mundane cycle of books, memorizing and vomitting out APPROPRIATELY.
ohya.. did i mention? it's also a test of physical endurance.. like how fast your hands can write in 2 hours. and how long your hands can go without cramming under an intense 2 hours of practically non-stop writing. makes me wonder if people have suffered from hand cramps and couldn't write during exams before. quite an all-rounder exams are huh..
after years and years in the education system i start to wonder whether the real point of studying is to remember some 'bo liao' stuff in the textbook for 1 year or 1 semester and forget them later on. or is it to train up hard working workers that are disciplined and hard working enough to SIT STILL and go through MUNDANE, NON EXCITING work work and more work for the sake of the big M. imagine if all our workers spend their days on facebook, watching drama serials and being unable to sit through 8 hours of office life. big trouble yeah? although i pretty much wouldn't mind a life like that haha
sometimes i wonder if the point of projects is to really let us learn things in a new and supposedly 'exciting' way or is it rather to train up people that can work against tight deadlines and in pressure cookers called schools.
but then again.. aren't these the qualities our economy needs? since they can't train up smart-ness that is more of a natural talent, might as well train hardworking-ness?
yet to be fair, to be able to practice in the field we do need to study 1st.. but i wish we didn't have to do it this way or rather be tested this way..
so because i have no other choice left, and working in mac donalds for $700 a month no longer appeals to me like it did when i was a kid, i better get back to my books soon.... okok... soon soon!!! although i know i said that 2 hours ago ! haha
ps. are there people who really really enjoy studying?? these people are not weird.. but lucky.. because they have a very profitable, socially acceptable and desirable hobby.. i wish that was my hobby too... instead of chieong-ing dramas and facebook-ing...
ps.ps. okok I LOVE STUDYING,
